Although large car manufacturer are spending millions and even billions of dollars in research and development of alternative fuel sources, we’re most impressed when we stumble across something like this.
Someone has had enough of ridiculously expensive fuel prices and decided to do something about it. The result is rather shocking, and we mean that in the best way possible.
Initially he reported that his car ran on water alone, but later it was revealed that it actually uses acetylene gas as means of propulsion. Mohammad Raees Markani, a 44-year old self-titled “Jack of all trades”, came up with this idea years ago when he was using a gas welder. Acetylene Gas is a byproduct of welding, so he thought rather than letting it go to waste, he’d use it to his own advantage.
Having no prior experience with cars or having finished university for engineering, he decided to give it a go and modified an 800cc engine. He’s been using the same exact engine for the last five years, running it on fuel which costs $0.150-$0.300 per litre. That, in case you were wondering, is extremely cheap.
He’s also developed and app enabling him to drive the car remotely. Although it’s not self-driving per say, he can technically drive it from a distance like a large RC car.
Despite having offers from Dubai , China and the U.S., he decided to set up a plant in his home town of Madhya Pradesh, sticking loyal to his country and his roots.
